The Ufodo Rural Education Project provides educational interventions for children in Ufodo, a community that lacks social amenities and infrastructure. We are currently working with 600 children, providing them with education, food, and foundational literacy and numeracy skills using the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) methodology, an approach that has proven highly effective in rural settings.
The program runs during the summer break, around August, and continues beyond the initial sessions through community engagement and follow-up support. We create an enriching learning environment with educational resources, structured lessons, and nutritious meals for every child.
Key features of the program include:
Literacy and Numeracy:
We apply the TaRL methodology to meet each child’s learning needs at their individual level. This personalized approach enables every learner to make measurable progress in reading, writing, and arithmetic.Bible Lessons:
Alongside academic instruction, we provide daily Bible lessons that help the children build strong moral values and a deeper understanding of faith.Missionary Stories:
We share inspiring missionary stories to encourage empathy, courage, and a spirit of service, showing the children how individuals can transform their communities through love and dedication.Nutritious Meals:
Each day, the children receive healthy meals and snacks that keep them energized for learning and help address food insecurity in the community.
The smiles, enthusiasm, and growth we witness among the children continue to be deeply heartwarming. This ongoing project is not only transforming the educational outcomes of children in Ufodo but also strengthening community bonds and hope for a brighter future.
